This Month at CFSC

    Spring Show – Sunday, May 11, 2025, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

    Plans for our Spring Show are well underway. The theme is A Night on the Red Carpet, which includes songs from your favorite movie or someone on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the club locker room, and the deadline to sign up is Sunday, May 4th.

    Please bear in mind the following rules for programs:

    • Each skater may perform one program (solo, duet, trio, etc.) as well as their coach’s program
    • Graduating seniors may perform in one additional program (solo, duet, trio, etc.)
    • In order to perform a solo program, skaters must be at pre-free skate or higher
    • Skaters below this level may perform in a duet, trio, small group, etc.

    The maximum allowed lengths for programs will be based on the skater’s level as follows:

    • Basic skills – 1:10
    • Pre-free skate through pre-preliminary – 1:40
    • Preliminary through pre-juvenile – 2:10
    • Juvenile – 2:40
    • Intermediate – 3:10
    • Novice and junior – 3:40
    • Senior – 4:10

    As always, the dress rehearsal will be the Saturday before the show (May 10) during freestyle time (9:00 am – 11:00 am) and there will be a reception following the show. Stay tuned for details and sign-ups.

    Patti May had a great skate at Eastern Adult Sectional Figure Skating Championships in Indian Trail, NC last month. She achieved a personal best score and brough home the gold in bronze women’s free skate, her first ever gold at Sectionals. Way to go, Patti!

    Six of our skaters spent the weekend at the Louisville Spring Invitational in Louisville, KY last month. They all did a great job and brough home a lot of hardware – 9 gold medals, 1 silver, 3 bronze and 2 pewter! Well done!!

    • Kinzleigh C. earned gold in all four of her events: Excel intermediate women’s free skate, novice lyrical pop, novice choreographic artistry, and novice interpretive
    • Maggie M. earned gold in Aspire 1-4 showcase and bronze in Aspire 4 girls free skate
    • Sophia N. earned silver in Aspire 2 girls free skate, bronze in Level 2 compulsory moves, and pewter in the Level 2 spins challenge
    • Emma R. earned gold in both of her events: Snowplow Sam girls’ elements and Snowplow Sam girls’ free skate
    • Hayden R. earned gold in both Basic 4 boy’s elements and Basic 4 boy’s free skate as well as earning bronze in Basic 1-6 showcase
    • Julia W. earned bronze in Aspire 1-4 emotional performance and pewter in Aspire 1-4 interpretive

    Our skaters have also been busy taking – and passing – tests! Lillian J. passed her pre-silver skating skills and Cate Y. passed her pre-gold skating skills. Great job, ladies!!

    • Avery A. Kinzleigh C., and Addy P. will be competing at the Three Rivers Spring Skate in Pittsburgh, PA May 3 – May 4 accompanied by Coaches Heidi and Mischa
