It’s always best to talk to your coach first if you are interested in competing. A skater’s competition level is limited by their USFSA test level (even if they haven’t tested). Your coach is familiar with both your skating abilities and the skill levels available for various events at local competitions and will be a valuable resource in helping you determine both which competitions to attend and which events within those competitions to participate in.
There are several ways to find competitions:
Scroll down to the Find A Competition section at the bottom of the page.
DO NOT use the Series filter when searching for competitions this way (you will always get a result of 0). Instead, use the Programs filter to find competitions in a specific category (i.e. Excel, Adult, Compete USA, etc.) except NQS.
Click the Start here… button under Skaters.
Entryeeze requires you to search for competitions by state and doesn’t list all the competitions in any particular series. If you’re looking for competitions in a series other than NQS (i.e. Excel, Adult, etc.) the USFSA option above is a better one.
Click on Search Competitions.
Use this option for all NQS events.
Once you have found a competition you’re interested in, read the Competition Announcement to learn about the specific events being offered.
Bear in mind that entry deadlines for competitions are generally 4-6 weeks before the competition, so if you or your skater is interested in competing, start looking early!
